Streaming TV advertising · OTT and CTV

Your commercial on streaming TV, bought by the household.

OTT and CTV ads on the streaming apps your customers watch, such as Hulu, Roku, YouTube TV and Netflix. We plan the buy, make the spot, cap how often each home sees it, and track the visits, calls and sales that follow.

Sample illustration: a TV showing a 15-second ad break with the words Your commercial here, shown to 24,600 households in ZIP codes 85251, 85254 and 85260.

  • Targeted by household, ZIP code or customer list
  • Frequency capped per home
  • Reported live in your Command Center

The basics

OTT, CTV and streaming TV: what the terms mean.

  • Streaming TV

Shows, movies, news and live sports delivered over the internet instead of cable or an antenna.

  • CTV (connected TV)

The TV screen itself: a smart TV, or a TV with a Roku, Fire TV or Apple TV device plugged in. CTV ads play full screen, and on most apps they can't be skipped.

  • OTT (over the top)

The streaming services and apps, delivered "over the top" of cable. OTT ads can play on a TV, a phone, a tablet or a computer.

We plan for the living room TV first, and add phones and laptops when it helps reach the right households.

Targeting

Bought by the household, not the time slot.

Cable sells a time slot and shows your spot to everyone watching. Streaming TV lets you choose the homes.

  • Your service area

ZIP codes, a radius around your locations, a metro area or the whole country.

  • The right audience

Homeowners, new movers, in-market shoppers, household income, age and interests.

  • Your customer list

Your customers or leads, matched to households, to win them back or leave them out.

  • Your site visitors

People who visited your site, reached again on the living room TV.

Frequency is capped per household, so the budget buys reach instead of repetition.

Targeting options vary by app and platform. Your plan lists what each placement allows.

FAQ

Questions we hear most.

What is the difference between OTT and CTV?

CTV means the ad plays on a TV screen, through a smart TV or a streaming device. OTT means the ad plays inside a streaming service, on any screen: a TV, phone, tablet or computer. Most streaming TV plans use both.

How much does streaming TV advertising cost?

Streaming TV is bought per thousand impressions (CPM). The CPM depends on the audience, the apps and the targeting. Your plan shows the CPM, impressions and households for every placement before you approve it. Our management fee is a percentage of ad spend, agreed in writing up front.

Is streaming TV worth it for a local business?

It can be, when you serve a defined area and your budget can reach each home several times. We plan by ZIP code or radius, so you pay for your market and not the whole metro. If your budget is too small to make streaming work, we tell you on the discovery call.

Do we need a commercial?

No. We produce 15- and 30-second spots, or cut one from video you already have.

Which apps will our ads run on?

Placements come from the streaming apps and devices that sell ads, such as Hulu, Roku, YouTube TV, Samsung TV Plus and Netflix. Which ones make your plan depends on your audience, market and budget, and the plan lists them before you approve it.

Can we target our own customers?

Yes, where the platform allows it. We match your customer or lead list to households, to reach them again or leave them out. Match rates vary with list quality, and we report the match rate we get.

How do you measure results?

We report reach, frequency and completed views, then match the households that saw the spot against site visits, calls and sales in your Command Center. Where the budget allows, we hold back a group of households to measure lift.
